In the spring and summer terms, tennis is played to a high standard at the school. In the summer term boys from years 9 – 10 are able to pick tennis as a games option. For the students selected for the representative teams, training is offered in the spring term and includes morning training before school and after school sessions. Wilson’s use the local facilities of David Lloyd Purley, where we are able to access 10 indoor courts and 8 outdoor courts that are flood lit.

The school often use tennis coaches from Surrey Racquets club to deliver challenging, stimulating sessions for the boys to help increase their levels of performance. The boys have the opportunity to compete against local schools such as Whitgift, Trinity, Reeds, St George’s School Weybridge, Cumnor House, King’s College School and Hampton.

The school competes in the Surrey League, Surrey Festival and the AEGON nationals, as well as playing regular friendlies. In recent years, the school has had great success in these competitions, winning the U15 Surrey League, U15 Surrey Festival and progressing through to the regional final of the AEGON nationals. Wilson’s caters for participation in tennis as well as elite performance. Students often join local tennis clubs having played at school, and thoroughly enjoy their time playing at the school.
