On Saturday 23 April Wilson's won the Junior Team Chess Competition. This national competition saw junior (U13) teams from all over the country compete to make it to the final of nine teams, which took place at Kings College School. Wilson's once again showed its tremendous depth of high calibre chess players by qualifying not one but two teams. This is the fifth time the competition has been run and has been won by the hosts KCJS on every occasion – until this year!
Well done to the A team on the day: Denis, Shlok, Balahari and Anuj. Special congratulations to Anuj for winning all of his games. The team scored 29 ½ and were a comfortable 3 points ahead of KCJS. The B team also played well, scoring 15 ½ and placed sixth. Well done to Joshua, Mark, Roni, Laxmi, Shourya and Arlo. The B team played the same opponents as the A team. Thanks also to Joshua, Mark and Ronik who played for the A team in the qualifiers in February.
