The positive reaction to Wellbeing Updates has been overwhelming; thank you to all those who have offered feedback and suggestions. As well as exploring the power of reading, showcase some fantastic photographs of local birdlife and featuring a “walk of the week” through Beddington Park, this week’s edition contains an uplifting message from our Wellbeing Prefect, Jamal:
Lockdown is really tough, but I think the most important thing is to acknowledge that it’s not easy and to remember that, especially now, we will not feel ok all of the time. Make sure you give yourself time to relax and do things you enjoy, whatever that might be.
If you are in Years 11 and 13, it is especially stressful at the moment with the uncertainty around exams and grades. I think it’s really important to just be aware of what you can and cannot control and to focus on keeping up with work as best you can.
Remember to talk to whoever you feel comfortable talking to if things are getting overwhelming or you are worrying about certain things. I know from experience it is not an easy thing to do but it can sometimes be a weight off your mind if you can share what you are feeling with someone else. Remember: be kind to yourself!
