On the 23rd of November, the Charities Committee hosted the preliminary rounds for the school University Challenge competition to help raise money for our charities of choice this year - Lives not Knives and Mind.
Organised by the Charities Prefect (Edwin in Year Thirteen) and his team, each form selected a pupil to battle in the House vs House University Challenge. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the teams faced off, displaying quick thinking, problem-solving skills, and a wealth of knowledge with questions ranging from history and science to sports, ensuring a well-rounded test of the participants' intellect. Tensions rose and each team were desperate not to let their house down as the challenge progressed.
The Committee and I were amazed by the depth of general knowledge the students possessed and, after a hard-fought battle, I am delighted to announce that Brecon and Southwark have made it through to the finals where they will face off against a team of teachers. The finals will take place in the JJ Hall on the 7th of December, so do come along to see who will win!
