Player Of The Week

Maddoc (Year Seven) continues to shine as the U12B team’s very own Claude Makelele in the holding centre midfield position. Joel (Year Eight) has the school record for the most goals in a season in his sights as he moved his tally on to an incredible 49 goals for the season with five against Three Rivers. Nana (Year Ten) gave his best performance in a yellow and black jersey: he contributed to both goals in the U15A’s win and was also impressive defensively.

Team Of The Week

Another horrible week of weather meant the games were reduced, but there was still cup glory for the U12As and U13As. Our U12As became our first cup finalists of the season as they battled past Oaks Park in the semi final of the Sutton Cup. The U13As were involved in a thrilling game, beating Three Rivers 6-5 to move into the quarter final stage of the Surrey Cup.

Team of the week are the U15As (photo below), who made it two wins out of three with an all-round superb display against a very good Carshalton team.

Match Report

Wilson’s U15A 2 VS 0 Carshalton
The first half was full of intensity and urgency in the press and organisation defensively from the U15s. Our relentless pressure led to Jack forcing the ball off their left-back, before squaring it to Nana O who clinically placed it into the back of the net.

Not long afterwards, a quick counter from the U15s led to the ball being worked into the middle, where Nana O turned effectively, managing to win a penalty, which was coolly converted into the bottom corner by Joe.

In the second half, the U15s stayed disciplined and organised, forcing the opposition to settle for speculative efforts from the edge of the box frequently. Then, following some last-ditch blocks, clearances, and brilliant saves from Ved, the Wilsons’ team was able to see the game out for a second win in three games, continuing the recent run of good form. Our man of the match was Nana O for taking up threatening attacking positions and tracking back to provide some extra coverage in the midfield where necessary.
