Match Report

Wilson’s U15A 4 - 2 Sevenoaks

On Monday, the U15 A-D teams travelled to Sevenoaks eager to play some football. It was the third game in five days for the As, but nevertheless, we were determined to put on a good performance.

The game started sharply, with some great passages of play leading to our striker swiftly propelling us ahead within the first few minutes with a superb volley. However, a series of unfortunate clearances allowed the opposition striker to rattle a shot into the bottom corner, levelling the game. We went into the break with the scores tied, with both teams putting on a great display throughout the half.

The second half started with both teams battling all over the pitch, though ultimately, a bit of flair from their right winger caught our defence out and an unmarked man at the back post made it 2-1 to Sevenoaks. Despite the back-and-forth nature of the game, Wilson’s made a comeback with a spectacular goal from Jack, who chipped the opposing keeper from the halfway line - a true contender for the goal of the season.

We began to dominate and looked very threatening on the attack. We took the lead from a corner straight off the training ground, which was headed home by Atharv. Sam settled the match by meeting a through ball and calmly slotting it into the back of the net. It was a great performance from the A team and gave us a good break after a series of unfortunate results. Jack was our man of the match for his excellent goal and hard work throughout the game.
