Congratulations to all pupils and staff – and thank you to parents – for getting the term off to a great start in challenging circumstances. Once again, pupils have adapted to remote teaching with maturity, contributing their usual intelligence and good humour to our full timetable of live lessons.
Our adapted co-curricular programme is also well underway – 80 boys attended Chess club on Tuesday! – and online sports coaching and instrumental music teaching continues. At the end of last term, we reflected on 2020 with much pride. The glowing report from our Ofsted visit in February and of course recently being named Sunday Times London State School of the Decade were highlights for the community as a whole. And we have been incredibly touched by the kindness, courtesy and resilience of pupils since this crisis began. Their lives have been turned upside down and yet they have responded to every challenge with characteristic good cheer and genuine empathy for the staff and for each other. There have also been many tales of individual triumph and happiness to inspire us, and we look forward to sharing news of Wilsonians’ successes in 2021!
Happy New Year!
