Team Reports

Monday 12th June 2023
Wilson’s U15A won the toss and put Sevenoaks School in to bat on a good pitch with small boundaries. Opening bowlers bowled too short and were punished by the Sevenoaks batters. The introduction of leg spin from Vaibhav slowed the run rate down and returned figures of 2 for 9 off 4 overs. Seam bowler Shivam bowled a good spell in the middle overs (2 for 15 off 4 overs) and Sevenoaks finished on 140 for 8 off 20 overs. Wilson’s top four batters exploited the short boundaries and maintained a run rate of over 10 runs per over. Riven was outstanding with powerful hitting reaching his 50 off 16 balls and ending on 82 off 37 balls to win us the match by 8 wickets.

Tuesday 13th June 2023
Wilson’s U15A came up against a talented Whitgift U15A team in the ECSA T20 Cup quarter final. Electing to field first the Wilson’s bowlers tried hard to contain the Whitgift batters with some success Whitgift were restricted to 136 for 6 in their 20 overs. In reply Wilson’s lost wickets on a regular basis and found it difficult to keep up with the run rate. Only Viabhav (21 from 29 balls) and Riven (26 from 20 balls) tested the Whitgift bowlers but unfortunately could not maintain the run rate and Wilson’s were bowled out 28 runs short.

Wilson’s U13A lost the toss and were put in to field. Kings College School batted well and posted a competitive score of 150 all out in 20 overs. Standout bowler was Arthi (4 for 19 off 4 overs) doing a great job removing the tail enders. Wilson’s in reply made 96 all out. Tejas (20 off 23 balls) and Adhay (16 of 19 balls) were the only batters that showed any resistance.

Wilson’s U13D won the toss and batted first and scored 148 for 3 in 20 overs. Adhiraj was the standout batter who retired on 50 off 32 balls. KCS were bowled out for 146 in the 17th over needing 3 to win with one wicket in hand Anshul stepped up and clean bowled the batter giving Wilson’s the victory by 2 runs.

Wednesday 14th June 2023
Wilson’s 1st XI with 7 Year 9’s playing due to exams won the toss and elected to field. On debut Umair with his very first ball took the wicket of the Emanuel opening batter caught at slip. Emanuel recovered with a 78-run partnership and ended on 120 for 7 off 20 overs. Best bowling figures came from our two Year 9 spinners Neil (3 for 15 off 4 overs) and Rohan (2 for 6 off 2 overs). A mention must also go to Year 9 wicketkeeper Ved who took two sharp stumpings when the Emanuel batters were looking for quick runs. In reply Wilson’s got off to a quick start with Ved (21 from 17 balls) and Faizal (26 from 15 balls). With the introduction of spin by Emanuel slowed the run rate down and Wilson’s started to lose wickets. Only the captain Zain (21 from 11 balls) looked like Wilson’s could win the match. Unfortunately, after a sharp catch at mid-wicket left the tailenders too much to do and ended 4 runs short.

Thursday 15th June 2023
Wilson’s U14B won the toss and elected to bat. Wilson’s batted well with standout batters Navaj (32 off 25 balls) and Ieuan (40 off 36 balls) set us a total of 140 for 9 off 20 overs. Friday 16th June 2023

Credit goes to Anshul (23 off 26 balls), Viraaj (20 off 35 balls) and Akshon (14 off 12 balls) who gave their best and got us to a total of 88 of 20 overs. In reply Wilson’s bowled fantastically well and it took Trinity to the 18th over to win the game. Ashvik was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets.

Wilson’s U12A won the toss and elected to bat and put up a score of 85 all out in 19 overs. Only Luca (20) and Nilin (15) showed any resistance against the Sevenoaks bowlers. In reply, Wilson’s took a stream of steady wickets but unfortunately lost the game by 3 wickets. Excellent bowling from our spinners Luca (4 for 17) and Olly (2 for 18) could not stop the Sevenoaks victory.

Wilson’s U12B won the toss and elected to bat against Sevenoaks. After 10 overs Wilson’s were in a good position at 87 without loss. Good aggressive running between the wickets. Sevin (41 off 38 balls) and Siddharth (30 of 40 balls). Some hard hitting from Rochik (23 off 15 balls) helped Wilson’s to a total of 174 for 4. In reply Sevenoaks were bowled out for 75. Excellent bowling from Hardick (4 for 9) and Aahan (3 for 6).

Saturday 17th June 2023
Wilson’s U15A lost the toss and were put into bat. A riveting 68 from 35 balls from Riven and a blistering 42 off 23 balls from Ritvik got Wilson’s to a total of 168 off 20 overs. In reply Wallington Grammar were no match for the Wilson’s bowlers and were bowled out for 61. Excellent spin bowling from Vaibhav (3 for 12) and Vedant (2 for 3) were the pick of the bowlers.

Wilson’s U14A lost the toss against Wallington Grammar and were put into field. Great bowling performance from Pratham (4 for 7) restricted Wallington to 67 for 7 off 20 overs. In reply, Pratham (36 off 22 balls) and Ved (30 off 18 balls) helped Wilson’s to victory going past the Wallington total in 7 overs with the loss of only 2 wickets.

Wilson’s U13A batted first and after a slow start scored 100 for 6 off 20 overs. Some quality bowling restricted Wallington getting off to a good start but some indifferent fielding kept them in the game. In the last over, 8 was needed with Pawargi bowling and he did not disappoint with Wilson’s winning by 2 runs.
