Player Of The Week

Player of the week is Joe (Year 10) who scored two stunning free kicks for the U15As (photo, below left).

Joel (Year 8) reached half century of goals for the season with his 49th and 50th against Wimbledon College, a remarkable achievement and he now has the school record in his sights. Year 11 pupil Adhrit (photo, above right) has been outstanding in his sweeper keeper role for the 1st XI this season and one of his best performances came this week against Whitgift with the bonus of a superb penalty save.

Matt (Year 13) scored two goals for the 1st XI against Whitgift- one a spectacular volley. He is another who is having an excellent season and has achieved the special landmark of playing more games for the 1st XI than any other pupil in the school’s history. Rohan (Year 9) scored a stunning hat-trick for the U14Bs, all three goals coming from the team’s hard work in pressing.

Team Of The Week

Team of the week is the U14B team, who registered their best win of the season beating Brentwood 3-1: they lost the reverse fixture 3-1 and the result shows how much they have improved.

The 8th XI (photo below) were superbly led by captain Abishan (Year 11) in their win over City of London Freemen’s, a typical display of enthusiasm and effort from the whole squad. On the same day the 4th XI played some lovely football to beat the same opposition 4-1.

The 1st XI was in scintillating form to beat Whitgift 5-1 away; a fast start meant they were 3-0 up within eight minutes. There were excellent away wins for the 2nd XI and U15Bs at Brentwood. Many Year 13 pupils were playing their last game for Wilson’s in the 2nd XI; they did the school proud, as they have done every time they have put the yellow and black on.
