Team Reports
U15A – Wilson’s lost the toss and were asked to field. Bowling was wayward and the fielding was lacklustre, helped Rutlish to a score of 147 in their 20 overs. In reply, Raghav batted positively with 32 off 30 balls but it was Tejas that held the innings together with 33 off 34 balls. With 5 overs to go, Wilson’s still needed 50 runs to win. Eshvar joined Tejas at the crease and smashed 25 off 18 balls to win the match. (PHOTO ATTACHED)
U13A – Wilson’s lost the toss and were put into bat. A solid batting performance saw Wilson’s post a competitive score of 162 for 5 off 20 overs. Kiaan (44 off 30 balls) and Aadit (26 off 20 balls) were the pick of the batters. Disciplined bowling but some extremely poor fielding allowed Rutlish score more runs than they should have and ended on 108 for 8 off 20 overs. Shon was the outstanding bowler taking 3 wickets for 6 runs.
U13B – Wilson’s lost the toss and were asked to bat. Both openers, Seyon and Aeshan retired on 50 and Raphael smashed 28 from 11 balls to help reach a total of 182 off 20 overs. In reply, Rutlish struggled against the accurate bowling from Wilson’s and were bowled out for 35 in 13 overs. Jai was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets off 2 overs.
1st XI – Wilson’s lost the toss and were asked to field. A positive start from KCS saw 70 runs scored in the first 7 overs. Viabhav (3 for 16) and Diyath (2 for 23) slowed the scoring rate and took valuable wickets to see KCS finish on 163 for 6 off 20 overs. The Wilson’s batters struggled against the spin of the opening bowler and saw the loss of 5 wickets in the first 6 overs of which Wilson’s could not recover from. Rayyan showed some resilience with a top score of 28. Wilson’s were bowled out for 88 in 17 overs.
2nd XI – Wilson’s won the toss and elected to field. After 10 overs Wilson’s were in a good position of having KCS 41 for 5. In the second 10 overs, indifferent bowling and poor fielding saw KCS hit 100 runs and finished on 141 for 8 off their 20 overs. Shreyash (3 for 15) was the best of the bowlers. A difficult target to chase, Saisurya (46 from 37 balls) and Rishabh (35 from 30) tried their best but unfortunately, Wilson’s finished on 117 for 5 after 20 overs.
U15A – Wilson’s lost the toss and were asked to bat. A disappointing batting display on a good wicket saw Wilson’s finish on 93 for 5 off 20 overs. Wilson’s batters showed no positivity in striking the ball or in their running between the wickets. In reply, Wilson’s showed a good effort with the ball, taking 6 of the Caterham wickets before losing in the 18th over. Ragav was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 11.
U14A – Wilson’s lost the toss and were put into field. Disciplined bowling saw Rutlish finish on 108 all out. In reply Sevin batted positively for 38 off 28 balls and it was down to Olly and Chirayu to steady the innings and saw Wilson’s home on 109 for 3 after 14 overs.
U14B – Wilson’s lost the toss and were asked to bat. Aditya (50 off 40 balls) and Dhruv (20 off 24 balls) helped Wilson’s to a total of 158 for 2 off 20 overs. The Wilson’s bowlers were too strong for the Rutlish batters and were bowled out for 11 in 7 overs.
1st XI – Wilson’s put in a strong performance for the National Knockout Cup match against Kingston Grammar, scoring 237 for 2 off 20 overs, with the highlight being Ansh scoring 106 off 58 balls. He was ably supported by Adhrit (22 off 13 balls), Ishaan (65 off 43 balls), and Rayyan (28 off 9 balls). In reply, Kingston Grammar never kept up with the run rate required and saw them lose wickets through dot ball pressure and were bowled out for 127. (2 PHOTOS ATTACHED)
U12A – Wilson’s lost the toss and were asked to bat. A good score of 119 for 8 off 20 overs. In reply, Rutlish finished on 99 for 8 off 20 overs, with the wickets shared between the bowlers.
