Wilson's School

Director of Music

From September 2026

This is a rare opportunity to lead an exceptional music department in a school where all Year 7 pupils learn a musical instrument or enjoy vocal tuition with expert tutors, where over 200 older pupils regularly participate in school ensembles or events, and where exceptionally able cohorts of students study music at GCSE and A level and beyond.

Wilson’s has a hugely vibrant sporting and artistic culture, and students often have a wide range of co-curricular interests. We seek a confident, ambitious and resilient Director of Music to ensure that music continues to be at the heart of Wilson’s life, and that students are inspired to commit to musical activities and produce high quality outcomes.

Further information about the music department can be found here and on the department’s dedicated website here.

Whilst the closing date is Monday 23 February, we may interview prior to this and therefore actively encourage early applications.

Further details can be found on the school’s website and the link to the online application form is below. We are always delighted to talk about the school and so do please contact Naomi Hamilton, Senior Administration Manager nh@wilsonsschool.sutton.sch.uk or 0208 773 2931, if you would like to do so.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to enhanced child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.
