Eco-Committee selects poster competition champions

As part of the application for the Eco-Schools Green Flag award, the Eco Committee launched a poster competition for all year groups.

This poster competition was designed to provide students with the creative opportunity to create a poster which would be used around the school site to encourage staff and students alike to consider their energy and resource usage.

Discussions had been had during committee meetings about the need to encourage a greater effort on recycling as well as turning off computers, interactive whiteboards and lights in the classroom.

There were a number of excellent entries with the top three placing as follows:

  • 3rd place: Evan (Year 7)
  • 2nd place: Aone (Year 7)
  • 1st place: Haoran (Year 8)

Haoran’s amazing poster has now been printed and placed around the school to ensure that all members of our school community reflect on their impact on the environment and think twice before putting plastic bottle in the rubbish bin rather than recycling.

The Eco-Committee is very excited to see the impact of these posters on the school site in helping us achieve the Green Flag award!
