Football Update #16

Player of the Week

Ali (Year 8) is usually busy stopping the opposition team from scoring but this week he put himself on the scoresheet with a classy finish. In the same game the indefatigable Arnav (Year 8) was non-stop from box to box and a constant threat. Richard (Year 7) gave another centre forward masterclass holding the ball up well and grabbing two goals.

The U13A’s are having another superb season and one of the unsung heroes Sid (Year 8) continued his brilliant form this week. Another clean sheet for the fantastic goalkeeper takes him to nine for the season which earns him Player of the Week!

Team of the Week

The weather caused more issues this week but there were still some excellent cup wins. The U15A’s bounced back from recent setbacks to move into the Sutton Cup semi-final with a good 4-2 win versus Cheam.  It was a terrific Thursday at Mollison Drive with the U13A’s and U12A’s scoring a combined twenty-three goals without conceding to move through in their respective cup competitions. Despite the weather it was great to see pupils from Year 10 to Year 13 training at school together on a wet and windy Saturday morning.

Team of the Week are the U13A’s who beat the always strong Hampton 1-0 away from home!
