Football Update #9

Player of the Week

U14A playmaker Aron (Year 9) scored a last-minute winner to send them into the fourth round of the National Cup. Nana A (Year 12) continues to be an example setter for the 1st XI and his teammates with a selfless display against Three Rivers. Richard (Year 7) remains a key part of the U12A’s good form, he held the ball up well at centre forward and scored two good goals versus Carshalton.

Owais (Year 9) produced an all-action performance to inspire the U14B’s to a famous win versus Eton to win him Player of the Week!

Team of the Week

The U15A’s moved into round 3 of the National Elite with an excellent 3-0 win away versus Raven’s Wood. Akin (Year 10) was the hero with two well taken goals. The 1st XI and U14A’s also moved into the next rounds of their cup tournaments with two good displays. It was a fantastic afternoon last Tuesday in Harrodian with some great football played in excellent spirit. All the U13 teams performed admirably and came away with four wins. Our pupils did the school proud as we played Eton College for the very first time. The U15B’s battled to good 1-1 draw while the U14B’s won 2-0 with a sensational defensive display earning them team of the week.

Match Report

Historic Win as U14Bs beat Eton!

After a long journey, Wilson's had finally arrived, ready to push through the freezing cold and grab themselves a win. It started off with brilliant displays from both sides, constantly going back and forth until the ball fell to Mrigank who played a delightful ball to Daniel who headed it home! 1-0.

Eton had their fair share of chances, but Wilson's held on really well and made sure not to concede with the help of a brilliant backline consisting of Adam, Shon, Owais, Prathosh and Bilal.

Eventually, after countless good chances from Wilson's, we had a breakthrough where Nebey laid it off to Chris who played a brilliant ball to Neo who rifled it in on a first-time volley into the bottom corner. Two brilliant saves from Nishil meant we held on to our lead until the final whistle. An amazing game of football despite the extreme conditions.
