TEAM OF THE WEEK AND MORE

Player of the Week

Player of the Week is Bruno (Yr 12) who scored three goals in three games for the 1st XI with one of them a volley into the top corner from thirty yards.

Many other footballers put in impressive performances this week. Mr Karamath was proud of Sohil’s (Yr 8) display for the U13B’s: he worked tirelessly for the team in their fine win. Last week’s player of the week Joel (Yr 8) had another week to remember, this time scoring an unbelievable six goals for the U13A’s. Matthew (Yr 10) put in one of his best performances for the school against a very good left winger; he was tenacious at right back and defended superbly.

Team of the Week

Team of the Week is the 1st XI who had two good wins from two very impressive performances. Their first was a commanding display against Oxted, winning 7-0, and the second was even more impressive, winning away against a very talented Reading Blue Coat 1st XI.

Away from the 1st XI, it was a week to remember for our youngest players—the eagerly anticipated debut games for our Y7 teams took place. The U12A’s, in their first game for the school, lived up to our expectations and showed signs that the future for football in the school is bright. They raced into a 3-0 lead with football described as “scintillating” by Mr Palmer - they just couldn’t hold on for the win, drawing 3-3.

It was a week to remember for the U13 teams who did the double over Glyn. The U13B’s came out firing in their second half to win 3-1 while the U13A’s (photo, below) scored a remarkable twelve goals away in their win.
