Since its foundation in 1615, Wilson's has undergone significant transformations. One notable milestone within the 400 years is the recent renovation of the library that is housed in the main building. This change is thanks to the construction of the new Britton Centre, which created extra space to expand the library. So what are the changes and how do they benefit senior and junior Wilsonians alike?

According to the school librarian, "It was decided that expanding the library would be a better use of space because of how popular the library is. At some points, it gets so crowded! Moreover, it has allowed us to have a larger variety of books. Overall, it is an excellent change and has lots of benefits."

The wide range of improvements has enhanced every student's experience in the library. In particular, the addition of new computers and extra space caters to the high demand of students. Ayaan from 8S highlighted the positive changes, including a new carpet, increased space and high-quality furniture, creating a peaceful environment. The renovation has also led to the inclusion of renowned books like The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, as noted by You You in Year 13. These additions contribute to the library's modern transformation post-renovation.

A student could go to the library for several reasons: to focus in silence, study during lunch or just to read a book. However, the renovations have made our library an even more welcoming place for students. It is a lot more comfortable and has the latest resources, making it a better place for learning and relaxing.
