“A different language is a different vision of life.” - Federico Fellini

Last week, an exciting array of activities was planned by our Modern Foreign Languages Department to encourage students to open their eyes to the richness and diversity offered by foreign languages and cultures. Students and staff were also treated to food reflecting our international theme in the school canteen.

Students had the fantastic opportunity to learn some Cantonese, Mandarin, Tamil and Marathi from fellow students fluent in these languages. They could also cook some foreign dishes, take part in our International Languages quiz, play “Where is Wally?” in French, German and Spanish - without forgetting the annual Wilson’s Boules Competition. We know you will all be excitedly awaiting the results of the House Competition; the MFL Department is therefore delighted to announce that Brecon won the International Languages Quiz 2023, Hayes as the runner up.

We are also very pleased to announce that the winner for the “Boules” Tournament is Safeer from 7B! He won against Aarujan (another excellent Boules player) from 7D. Congratulations to all winners and a big thank to everyone involved in making this week really successful!
