BAKE-OFF AND BOULES!

"He who knows no foreign languages knows nothing of his own."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Last week, an exciting array of activities was planned to encourage students to open their eyes to the richness and diversity offered by foreign languages and cultures.

Students had the fantastic opportunity to learn some Madarin, Slovakian, Telugu and Hindi, thanks to the talents of Ishan (Year 12), Harry (Year 9), Tobias (Year 9), and Pavan (Year 9).

Pupils took part in our International Languages House Competition, played “Where’s Wally?” in French, German and Spanish, demonstrated their creative spirit in our Year 8 Euro Bake off, watched an international film, and enjoyed the annual Wilson’s Year 7 Boules Competition!

The MFL Department is delighted to announce that the International Languages Week House Quiz Competition was won by Hayes with Camberwell second and Southwark third.

We are also very pleased to announce that the winner for the Boules Tournament is Anvesh from Datchelor! He won against Dhilan (another excellent Boules player) from Greencoat.

Our Year 8 “star bakers” were Varad, Jamie and Vihaan and the first place for our international “Where’s Wally?” went to Jonathan for French, Jeet for German and Achintya for Spanish (all Year 7).

Congratulations to all winners and a big thank to everyone involved in making this another really successful Languages Week!
