Congratulations to the 35 Lower Sixth students who competed in this year’s Cambridge Chemistry Challenge. Our students were up against thousands of the competitors from some of the best schools in the country. This Olympiad-style challenge consists of a challenging 90-minute paper that contained questions that required the students to extend and apply their chemical knowledge beyond the confines of the AS syllabus. This year’s questions centred on the use of double bond equivalents in Organic Chemistry and aluminium and its interesting Chemistry.
Completing the paper is an achievement in itself and this year Wilson’s students gaining three gold, ten silver and fifteen copper awards.
All of the boys did very well indeed and should be very proud of their achievements — well done!
