Posted on: | Category: RE & Philosophy | ActivitiesOn Wednesday, 3 May, the Philosophy Ethics and Religion society discussed Utilitarianism and the Repugnant Conclusion. This enabled further discussions on moral intuitions and the role they play in making moral decisions. On the one hand, moral intuitions (especially utilitarianism) are arguably the cornerstone of a society of law and order, yet on the other hand they can seem to be self-contradictory or absurd. Regardless, the significance of intuitions reveals that they are worth investigating further.
