FOR THE FALLEN

Over Remembrance Weekend, Wilson’s School CCF was proud to provide a guard of honour of thirty cadets for the service in the morning at Croydon Minster.

Over one hundred cadets and adult volunteers paraded in North End marched with other uniformed organisations, such as the Police Cadets and Reserve Army, to Croydon Cenotaph. Lance Corporal Guellermo laid a wreath on behalf of the contingent.

Wilson’s School CCF was the largest single organisation present; Contingent Commander Burton said the turn out and bearing of the cadets reflected very well on the school.

This week all students have taken part in Remembrance Assemblies, where Mr Lissimore read from “Testament of Youth” by Vera Brittain and highlighted the unbroken connection students ahd staff have to their forebears at Wilson’s School through our annual Remembrance Assembly.

Nicolas in 11B played the Last Post for all the Remembrance Assemblies, and following each assembly, a wreath was laid by the Board of Remembrance in the foyer.
