NATIONAL SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP DEBUT
Posted on: | Category:

The Key Stage 3 squash team has been training hard over the past couple of months, entering the National Schools Squash Championships for the first time. They performed very well in Stage 1, beating Simon Langton Grammar School but also losing to a strong Epsom College team. This was enough to get through to stage two, which was an excellent achievement.

The second stage draw led to Wilson’s facing both Felsted School and Berkhamsted School. The pupils performed extremely well and rose to the increase in level. Unfortunately, this was not enough on the day and the Wilson’s team narrowly lost to Felsted School 3-2 and then Berkhamsted School.

The students have all gained a vast amount of match play experience over the competition and will continue to train and play in friendly fixtures over the remainder of the year. Well done to Lakshya, Bharath, Rico, Nishith, Gautam and Viyan who have all been involved in the match squad this year. The team would also like to wish Zeeshan a speedy recovery and look forward to him re-joining the squad when able!
