LOCAL HISTORY 2023
Posted on: | Category:

We were very pleased to learn that Sam W (Year 12) has won the prestigious Young Historian Award for Local History 2023, for his essay on the treatment of conscientious objectors in Croydon. Sam wrote a fascinating piece on the treatment of and local attitudes to conscientious objectors, focusing specifically on the experiences of those from Croydon and the surrounding area. His essay explored local responses towards those who objected to World War One and presented an interesting analysis of their treatment within the prison system. We would like to congratulate Sam on his achievement and the outstanding research that was undertaken for this significant accomplishment.
