Wilson's School

Prefect Investiture

The hard work and dedication of a huge number of people enable the smooth day to day running of the school - prefects are at the heart of this. The School Captain, five Deputy School Captains, six House Captains, twelve Deputy House Captains, fifteen Senior Prefects and our Duty Prefects are not just Prefects in title – they work exceptionally hard, and it is no exaggeration to say that the school could not operate as it does without them. They are the leaders of the student body and enable a plethora of activities within the school community.

Prefects undertake significant numbers of duties before school, for example at break and lunch, and the Senior Prefects and House Captains have many additional responsibilities besides. We could not offer such a splendid and varied Co-Curricular offer, nor the terrific inter-year-group pastoral support that we do, without their commitment. All of this they manage with good cheer and dedication, showing they understand that true leadership is about service.

With our current Prefects soon to become Old Wilsonians, the next generation of student leaders have recently been selected. Across the last week their selection has been formally recognised and celebrated in a series of assemblies, involving our new team and younger year groups. Always an enjoyable and inspiring series of assemblies, the investitures have set the scene for the new Prefects to begin their work in June. We look forward to their many, and varied, contributions to school life!
