Table Tennis News
The table tennis programme has enjoyed a highly encouraging and energetic first term, with pupils showing great enthusiasm both in training and competition.
We were proud to host the first round of the London South Team Championships, welcoming schools from across the region. Our players rose to the occasion, performing with composure and determination, and finishing a strong second place behind Wallington Boys.
In league action, the teams have made an excellent start. Our U13 side remains undefeated in the Southeast League, showcasing depth, consistency and impressive teamwork. The U16 team has also performed admirably, with their only loss coming against a very strong Cheam School outfit.
A standout moment this term was our U13 squad winning the Plate Competition at the regional round of the Team Championships. After a tough first-round draw against eventual champions St Paul’s, the team regrouped superbly, showing resilience and quality to go on and secure the Plate title.
Training sessions have been well attended throughout the term, with players showing commitment and a real passion for improving. We extend particular thanks to the many keen Year 7 pupils who attended trials with great energy and enthusiasm—promising signs for the future of table tennis at the school.
Well done to all involved on a fantastic first term. We look forward to building on this momentum in the New Year!
