A superb tennis season

It has been a busy and competitive season for our tennis squads, with both the U15 and U13 teams representing the school in the Surrey Schools League and the National Schools Competition.
U15 Team
The U15 team showed real promise in the Surrey Schools League, recording impressive wins against Caterham School (4-0) and Royal Russell (3-1). These victories highlighted the team’s skill and determination on court. However, a strong Whitgift side, who went on to win all their league matches, proved too tough an obstacle, ending Wilson’s hopes of progressing further in the competition.
In the National Schools Competition, the U15s again faced strong opposition. Despite these setbacks, the squad remains positive and are looking forward to a series of friendly fixtures to round off the season and continue developing their match play experience.
U13 Team
This year’s U13 squad featured two enthusiastic Year 7 players making their debut for the school’s tennis team. While the team faced a challenging season with fixtures against strong opponents such as Whitgift and Ewell Castle, they managed a solid win over Royal Russell School, which was a clear highlight of the term.
Importantly, this season marked the first time Wilson’s fielded a U13B team in the National Schools Division 2 competition. This allowed more students to participate in competitive fixtures, gaining valuable experience. The B team enjoyed the opportunity to represent the school, securing one win and two losses in their group stage matches.
Overall, this term has seen encouraging performances, strong commitment, and growing participation across the tennis squads. We look forward to building on these efforts in the upcoming seasons.
Congratulation too to those who have been selected as Wimbledon Ball Boys this season - more to follow in website updates this term.
