Joyful Year 7 Showcases
Every single Year 7 pupil performed in our Celebration Evenings this week, each playing a new instrument they started learning after joining Wilson's in September 2025. They were – as always – joyful and entertaining occasions!
Introduced, compered, and directed by Mr Karl Kramer, who runs the Year 7 instrumental programme, the evenings proceeded with the usual wide range of musical performances. Thanks to Dr Clayden for providing accompaniments throughout the evening, to Mrs Straw for doing so much behind the scenes, to Will and Ben (both Year 12) for lighting, and to our full instrumental teaching team.
As well as performances from individuals and instrumental groups, each evening ended with a blast from the 90-piece wind band (made up of half the year group on each night), playing Showcase classics. There was also a short prize-giving on each evening, celebrating not only musical progress but also pupils’ friendliness, kindness and participation.
Congratulations to our Music Department for delivering these impressive events once again, and well done to our Year 7 performers for their enthusiasm, rhythm, and positive attitude!
