Four Old Wilsonians, Six Houses, 200 Miles!
On Friday 18 September 2026, a four-man team of Old Wilsonians - Atharva, Daniel, Ryan and Minhyuk (all from the Class of 2025) - will be attempting to visit each of the six locations linked to the Wilson's School House System within 24 hours!
Minhyuk - a former Deputy School Captain - shared the following information about their plan of action:
"Starting at 6am, the route will take us from Hayes, where the Old Wilsonians Association is located before we travel over to Southwark Cathedral.
From there, Camberwell is only a short bus trip away where we will find the former sites of Wilson's School, The Mary Datchelor School and Greencoat School.
We will finish our journey by climbing Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons, which every Wilson's student summits in their first year at the school.
This should be no easy feat: 200 miles is the distance we expect to cover on the day, and - as the crow flies - Wilson's to Pen-y-Fan itself is 146.5 miles (and 820m higher than sea level)!"
When asked why they are undertaking this feat, Minhyuk commented:
"We hope that our challenge will encourage students to research the history of the school and their houses and inspire other alumni to undertake other challenges.
We would hugely appreciate your support of our journey, but more importantly for the school.
Giving Day is an excellent way to help support Wilson's in providing for the needs of both current and future students, and the solar power project promises to benefit Wilsonians for years to come!"
For any current students and staff, our intrepid explorers will be visiting Mollison Drive on Tuesday 22 September - the day before Giving Day - to wrap up their expedition with a celebratory photo in the Greencoat Courtyard at Break Time.
