Wilson's Giving Day 2026

Help Us Raise £75,000 to Power a More Sustainable Future

On 23 September 2026, the Wilson's community will come together for our third Giving Day.

This year, we are seeking to raise £75,000 to kickstart a major solar installation project at Mollison Drive.

The project will help us reduce energy costs, lower carbon emissions, and strengthen the school's long-term financial sustainability.

Double Your Impact

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous supporter, every donation made to Wilson's Giving Day 2026 will be matched pound for pound, doubling the value of your support. This means a £60 donation is actually worth £120 to Wilson's.

If you are a UK taxpayer, your gift could go even further through Gift Aid. As Wilson's School is a registered UK charity, JustGiving - our giving platform for this campaign - will claim an additional 25p from HMRC for every £1 donated by eligible taxpayers at no extra cost to you.

This means a £60 donation is actually worth £135 to the campaign (£60 donation + £60 matched funding + £15 Gift Aid). The table below illustrates the joint value of matched funding and Gift Aid for other donation sizes.

Your Gift Matched Funding Gift Aid Total Gift Value
£100 £100 £25 £225
£300 £300 £75 £675
£2,000 £2,000 £500 £4,500

Every gift will help us move closer to our £75,000 goal and maximise the impact of this transformational project.

All donations made between 9 July and 23 September 2026 will count towards our Giving Day total - click below to support the campaign!

Harnessing The Power Of The Sun

Our proposed solar installation is an investment in the future of Wilson's. By generating renewable energy on-site, we can reduce our dependence on rising and unpredictable energy prices while taking meaningful action to support the environment.

Financial Impact

The installation of more than 300 solar panels is expected to generate approximately 125,000 kWh of electricity each year, delivering estimated first-year savings of over £25,000 on the school's energy bills.

These savings can be redirected towards supporting pupils and enhancing the educational experience of all our students.

Long-Term Sustainability

The total project cost is approximately £150,000.

Current projections suggest the system will pay for itself within six years, after which it will continue generating free electricity for the school for many years to come. With an expected operational lifespan of more than 25 years, the installation represents a significant long-term investment in the future of Wilson's.

Environmental Benefits

Initial estimates indicate that the project could reduce the school's carbon emissions by more than 25,000kg of CO₂ annually.

This is equivalent to the carbon absorbed by approximately 1,200 trees each year and forms part of our wider commitment to environmental responsibility.

Our Fundraising Goal

We aim to raise £75,000, representing half of the total £150,000 project cost.

With matched funding in place, support from parents, alumni, staff, and friends of Wilson's will help us move significantly closer to delivering this transformational project.

What is Wilson’s Giving Day?

Wilson’s Giving Day is a biennial fundraising event where our community comes together to support the school and our exciting development projects.

As it was in 2022 and 2024, it’s a day to celebrate the power of giving and to show how small acts of kindness can lead to significant changes.

Whether it’s through donating, sharing our campaign, or taking part in our activities, everyone in the school community has an important role to play.

How You Can Get Involved

Join the Celebration

On 23 September 2026, Mollison Drive will be transformed into a sun-themed savannah as we celebrate our third Giving Day with an Everybody Loves The Sunshine Mufti Day.

Pupils and staff will be encouraged to wear their brightest and sunniest outfits - including sunglasses, flip flops and beach hats - with £1 mufti contributions helping to boost our fundraising total.

We also plan to mark the generosity of our community by planting sunflowers across the school grounds as a lasting symbol of support.

Join Us in Making a Difference

Wilson's Giving Day 2026 is about more than fundraising.

It is an opportunity for our community to come together and demonstrate the spirit of Non Sibi Sed Omnibus — Not For Oneself, But For All —  which continues to underpin all that we do at Mollison Drive.

Together, we can create a greener, more sustainable future for Wilson's and leave a lasting legacy for generations of pupils to come.

Make your gift today and help power the next chapter of Wilson's.
