Wilson’s School is a leading selective state school for boys, combining academic excellence with a rich tradition and a forward-thinking approach to education. We aim to live out our school motto - Non Sibi Sed Omnibus - in all that we do.

Non Sibi Sed Omnibus — ‘Not for oneself, but for all’ — expresses the spirit of Wilson’s: that individual achievement should go hand in hand with kindness, responsibility and service to others. It is lived out each day through the respect, tolerance, courtesy and cooperation expected of pupils; through the way students support one another in a safe and kind learning environment; and through opportunities for teamwork, leadership, volunteering, music, sport and wider co-curricular life. To make this possible, students benefit from outstanding teaching, attentive tutoring (with a ratio of 1:16 in Years 7-11) and a wealth of opportunities beyond the classroom. The school aims to nurture well-rounded individuals equipped for success in higher education and beyond.

Inclusion and equality are integral to our aim of being a caring community and a challenging but inclusive environment in which every pupil feels valued and has the confidence, motivation and opportunity to fulfil his potential. We seek to remove barriers to participation and achievement, celebrate diversity and ensure that pupils are treated with kindness, dignity and respect. This commitment runs through our curriculum, pastoral care and wider school life: pupils learn about equality, diversity and respectful relationships through PSHE, Citizenship, assemblies and other subjects, while the school takes a proactive approach to tackling racism, homophobia, transphobia, prejudice and bullying.

Our approach to Equalities is set out in the school’s Equality Duty Plan and Equality Objectives 2025–2028. Current priorities include increasing understanding of physical needs and neurodiversity, ensuring that the curriculum provides opportunities to celebrate the accomplishments of women and consider historic gender inequality, and continuing to reduce harmful or prejudicial behaviour between pupils.
