Their efforts restricted the visitors to 80–9 from their 20 overs. Although the pitch offered inconsistent bounce, the decision to turn to spin paid off effectively.
During the interval, it was clear that focus remained an issue, as Wilson’s batters initially struggled to adapt to the challenging surface. Early dismissals of Arjun and Guhan left the side under some pressure. However, Sarvesh (16* not out) and Leo (20) played sensibly to rebuild the innings and steady the chase.
Tritish then added a quick-fire 13*—including an excellent straight six—to help secure victory. Wilson’s reached the target in 11.5 overs, winning by 7 wickets.
Wilson’s U12A made an excellent start to their Jubilee Trophy campaign, winning the toss and electing to field against Caterham School.
Disciplined and accurate seam bowling from Wilson’s made scoring difficult for the Caterham batters from the outset. An early run-out provided the initial breakthrough, and this momentum was maintained as wickets fell regularly over the next 10 overs. Although Caterham staged a slight recovery towards the end of the innings—helped in part by some lapses in concentration and fielding—they were restricted to 91–9 from their 20 overs. The standout bowler for Wilson’s was Vaishno, who claimed an impressive four wickets.

Things did not start well as early wickets left Wilson’s struggling at 22-3 and in danger of a collapse. However, Kiaan and Shon completely changed the momentum with an excellent partnership, rotating the strike brilliantly and constantly looking for singles to keep the scoreboard moving.
Shon led the way with a fluent 60* from 46 balls, while Kiaan finished unbeaten on 46 from 51 deliveries, unlucky to miss out on a deserved half-century after being left off strike following a bizarre single from Zak with two balls remaining. Their stand helped Wilson’s recover superbly to post 157-5.
In reply, Sevenoaks built a slow and steady innings which kept them within touching distance of the required rate for much of the chase. However, they were always slightly behind the game and, once opening batter Chloe was dismissed for 42 from 44 balls, they lacked the firepower to launch a late push for victory.

The innings eventually closed on 70 all out, resulting in a heavy defeat.
