Everybody does love the sunshine!
The Wilson's community turned out in style on Wednesday, 23 September, for this year's Giving Day. Students and staff alike embraced the sunshine theme with a wave of sunglasses - some fashionable, some sporting an unmistakably powerful tint - as members of the Wilson's community came together to support the school's newest development project.
The energy began early, with prefects gathering in the foyer to lead chants of this year's campaign tagline, "Everybody Loves The Sunshine". The slogan and its sun-soaked themes carried through the entire school day, and it wasn't long before hats and sunglasses had become an impromptu - if short-lived - fashion statement across every year group.
Thanks to the generosity of parents, alumni and friends of the school - and matched giving meaning that every donation received was doubled - Wilson's comfortably surpassed its initial £75,000 target. With momentum building, attention turned to an ambitious stretch goal of £100,000, truly "a light shining at the end of the tunnel" toward a greener future for the school.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who donated or simply wore their sunglasses with pride. If Giving Day 2026 proved anything, it's this: everybody really does love the sunshine!
