Football Update #4

Players of the Week: Goals Galore!

It was a week packed with goals, hat-tricks and heroic performances across Wilson’s football teams!

Birthday boy Max (Year 10) marked his big day in perfect fashion, smashing in a hat-trick for the U15A’s. He was not alone in the treble club, with Rohan (Year 12) firing in three for the 3rd XI and Omer (Year 9) matching the feat for the U14A’s.

But the goal-fest didn’t stop there. Nana (Year 13) took things up another gear with an incredible five goals for the 1st XI, and he was matched by Viktor (Year 13) who did the same for the 6th XI.

And while the strikers have been grabbing the headlines, Samo (Year 12) has been producing heroics at the other end of the pitch. The 1st XI goalkeeper has been in inspired form, recording an outstanding five clean sheets in his last six games.

From goal machines to goalkeeping heroes, it’s been a brilliant week of individual performances. Congratulations everyone!

Team of the Week

It was another excellent week for Wilson’s Football School, with several teams producing impressive performances and securing important victories.

U14A’s – Two 6–1 Wins

The U14A’s enjoyed a fantastic week, winning both of their matches by an impressive 6–1 scoreline. One of those victories came in the National Cup against Salesian’s, making the result even more significant. The team showed excellent quality and teamwork across both games.

Senior Success

There were also strong results for two of our senior teams. Both the 3rd XI and 6th XI recorded wins against Alleyn’s, continuing a positive run of performances and demonstrating the strength across the senior football programme.

Wins for the U12B’s and U12C’s

A special mention goes to the U12B’s and U12C’s, who both secured their first wins of the season against Sutton. These were important results for both squads and a great reward for the players’ hard work and commitment.

Match Report

Hampton 1 - 2 Wilson’s

Date: Friday, 18 September 2026
Venue: Home
Competition: Friendly

Wilson’s Win Give Hampton Heartbreak At Home!

The game starts and Zane runs onto a loose ball from the keeper and takes a shot but it goes wide. A few minutes later, Jude takes a shot, but Hampton’s keeper makes two saves before the ball bounces out to Zane’s left foot as he volleys it into the corner. The team celebrates but they remain focused as Hampton had lots of possession. Our back four kept us in the game until the second half.

Fuelled by Mr Karamath’s speech, Wilson’s come back onto the pitch as Zane and Jude are substituted by Taeyoon and Advith. After 10 minutes, Taeyoon throws a ball into the box blocked by a defender. Alex whips a cross to Ahaan who jumps up and headers the ball into the net. Advith’s tenacious tackles kept Wilson’s possession.

A few minutes later Wilson’s was awarded a penalty!  Alex steps up but the keeper makes an excellent save to keep Hampton in the game. Hampton came back for a counterattack and their left back made an excellent shot into the goal that Barran could unfortunately not save. Only a few minutes later the game ended and Wilson’s came home triumphant.

A great inaugural league match for Wilson’s!
