Futures
In Year 11 the Futures Programme aims to:
- Strengthen students’ study skills in preparation for their GCSE examinations and post-16 study
- Consolidate our Work Related Learning programme to inform students’ post-16 choices
- Inform students so that they are better able to select suitable work experience and in turn to prepare them for making the best possible use of their placement
- Review and build upon elements of the Elizabethan, Citizenship and PSHE programmes to prepare students for Sixth Form life and beyond
- Develop students’ speaking, interview techniques and confidence in professional settings, enhancing their employability
- Support pupils in building core life skills that are crucial for their future success, including communication skills such as 'small talk' and financial literacy, such as understanding taxation or mortgaging.
- Provide practical life skills that support students to flourish, including in them developing further independence and resilience as young people
- Continue to deepen students’ understanding of what it means to be an engaged and responsible citizen

In the Sixth Form the Futures Programme aims to:
- Strengthen students’ study skills in preparation for their A-level examinations and post-18 aspirations
- Consolidate our Work Related Learning programme to inform students’ post-18 choices and to enable them to access their chosen aspirations
- Inform students as to allow them to determine, plan and secure, purposeful work experience placements, and to prepare them for making the best possible use of their placements
- Support students in securing and completing meaningful volunteering opportunities, both inside the school community
- Augment students' reading habits, helping them to access scholarly academic texts and develop students’ speaking, interview techniques and confidence in professional settings.
- Support pupils in enhancing their core life skills that are crucial for their future success, such as in budgeting or living with others
- Provide practical life skills that support students to flourish, including in them developing further independence and resilience as young people
