Wilson's Grandparents' Day 2026
Coordinated by Mr Straw, our annual Grandparents’ Day once again took the form of a live video broadcast from Mollison Drive.
Starting at 2:30pm UK time by the willow tree at the front of school, attendees - the family and friends of current Wilson’s pupils - tuned in from countries across the globe, including South Korea, India, and Australia.
Our Associate Head, Mr Lissimore, led the online tour of the school, showing key locations, and talking to students and staff about their perspective of Wilson’s. This included a drop into Dr Clayden's Year 8 Music class, with Josh (8C) explaining the features of his composition to a captive global audience.
Once the tour had finished, grandparents - and other online attendees - were able to engage with Mr Lissimore in a live Q&A session, asking about the school's traditions and our motto amongst other queries.
As in previous years, Grandparents' Day offered attendees the opportunity to see the school in action without them having to head over to Wallington in person, an advantage of the digital world with many attendees dialling in from thousands of miles away.
After the call, one Grandparent commented:
"Thank you immensely for arranging this interesting tour of the school.
We are impressed by the well kept and beautiful property, the imaginative way of using the walls to inform and educate as well as the facilities provided for studying various subjects.
We liked the emphasis on extracurricular activities like sports, social service, music etc.
The Q and A session was good and informative.
Our grandson is really fortunate to be a student of such a prestigious institution!"
Thank you to our international school community for their fantastic support of, and interest in, the school!
