Humanities Intrigue published
Journalism is a passion for many Wilsonians, and we were delighted to welcome back Times journalist Peter Chappell (OW 2014) this week for a special presentation about his recent book What If Reform Wins: A Scenario.
This term has also seen the publication of the latest edition of the school's Humanities Intrigue magazine. Congratulations to our talented writers and editors.
Mr Lissimore (Associate Head) commented:
The quality of these publications is remarkable. The superb leadership of the editorial team has ensured that the high standard of previous editions has been maintained.
The Chief Editor of this edition - Kaivalya (Year 13) - shared the following:
Editing, organising and designing this issue of the Humanities Magazine has been a fulfilling endeavour.
This year, we were particularly impressed by the breadth and range of submissions we've received for this issue, including new subjects - such as Classics and Law - which were not contributed to previous issues.
What we particularly enjoyed about this issue is how it includes contributions from every year group, from Year 7 competition entries, to Year 12 artwork and Year 13 articles - this reflects the high level of engagement across the school.
This issue is also very special, because it contains a collection of work exploring the history and experiences of Black British people, written for the Miranda Kaufmann Prize for Humanities competition, run earlier in the year, by the Humanities Magazine.
Complemented by some beautiful student artwork, the Humanities Intrigue represents an impressive and long-standing student-led publication.
You can access this and previous editions on the school website here.
