December is usually the first opportunity for Wilson’s budding thespians to flex their muscles and perform in a piece of live theatre. The Drama Soirée, which is now in its tenth year at Wilson’s, is a showcase evening of performances from the new year 7s whose creative dramatic writing is some of the most accomplished in their year.
In September, all students were asked to write a monologue of at least ten lines, with each form being given a stimulus word to give them some direction. With Covid-19 preventing performances with a live audience, we have instead put together a short video with a selection of those highest achievers, whose monologues are imaginative, funny and often touching.
