Player Of The Week

Rohan (Yr 9) made one of the saves of the season against Royal Russell for the U14Bs, while in the same game Zac was outstanding in his new midfield position. Dilakshan (Yr 9) scored two fantastic goals for the U14Cs and was only denied a hat-trick by a superb goalkeeping performance from the Harrodian keeper. Pavamaan (Yr 9) was a rock at the back for the U14Cs, winning headers and tackles in leading the side to an impressive clean sheet. Player of the week is Sanjay (Yr 8) who was unplayable for the U13Ds scoring five goals and lighting up the game with his running on the ball.

Team Of The Week

The U13Ds beat Harrodian convincingly with a good performance, but it was their attitude on and off the field that shone through. Showing fantastic sportsmanship throughout the game and with some players deciding to play for Harrodian to make it a more even game, the U14Cs won 4-0 against Harrodian. It was an exceptional team performance. All players were unselfish, worked hard and played some sublime passing football. Team of the week are the U14Bs who got their season going with two wins against Harrodian and Royal Russell scoring an impressive ten goals. Well done to Mr Straw and the whole squad.

Match Report

Wilson’s U14C 4 vs 0 Harrodian

At the match on Thursday, we played Harrodian 15Cs. We played exceptional attacking football and grabbed an early goal scored by Ishaan. We continued to play superb football by passing the ball around and keeping the ball in the opposition half, however all our attempts at goal were denied by the opposition goalkeeper who was excellent.

The defence which consisted of Matin, Charan, Pavamaan and Abishan, intercepted every ball that came into our half. Then Dilakshan scored from close range assisted by a cross from Saaruu. With a few minutes to go in the first half Musa played a beautiful chip to Dilakshan who dribbled past 2 defenders and scored with a calm finish to bag a brace. We finished the first half with a comfortable 3 goal lead.

In the second half Harrodian played more attacking football, however our centre backs Sivan and Amey were able to deal with the attacks. Around 5 minutes into the second half Dilakshan took a shot at goal that was saved by the keeper, however Yehia was there to score the rebound. After that our defenders didn't allow Harrodian to have any shots at goal. We desperately tried to get another goal, however all of our attempts at goal were denied. Overall, we played very well with the man of the match being Dilakshan. (All players in Year 9) Match Report by: Tharren (Yr 9)
