We Have Rocked You!

This year’s Junior Production of We Will Rock You burst onto the stage in the John Jenkins Hall earlier this week.

Expertly directed by Mr Kavanagh, our actors and musicians delivered three fantastic performances of the hit West End musical by Queen and Ben Elton. With its futuristic storyline, larger-than-life characters and catalogue of iconic Queen anthems, the production had audiences ready to break free and rock the night away.

Set in a dystopian future where live music has been banned, the jukebox musical follows two misfits, Galileo and Scaramouche, as they join a rebellious group known as the Bohemians. Together, they take on the tyrannical Globalsoft Corporation, led by the formidable Killer Queen, in a battle to restore the freedom of rock ’n’ roll. Their mission may have seemed like a kind of magic, but with courage, determination and a few legendary rock relics, they were not going to stop them now.

Our youngest actors gave performances worthy of champions, while the musicians brought thunderbolts and lightning to the score with their virtuoso performances. Brilliant costumes produced by Mrs Straw added colour, flair and plenty of razzle-dazzle to the stage.
