Year 8 Celebration Assembly
Last Wednesday, we hosted our third assembly of recognition in which we celebrated pupils' achievements in a wide range of subjects.
Every half term we celebrate one student from a number of subjects as well as someone from co-curricular sport and music. The subjects chosen will be rotated around so that one pupil from each will be appreciated by the end of the academic year. Students are selected by the Heads of Department for a wide range of things - from putting in consistent effort, or in a standout example of dedication to the subject.
This term the following students were recognised:
| Subject | Pupil | Form | Reason |
| Sport | Ethan | 8S | Always showing a fantastic attitude in all PE & games lessons, as well as representing the school across several different sporting fields including Rugby, Basketball and Badminton! |
| Music | Rahavan | 8G | He has become an invaluable part of the trumpet section in wind band this year. Bravo! |
| Geography | Terry | 8B | Thinks like a geographer, as well as providing excellent answers in lessons. He also responds to criticism positively and sees it as an opportunity to learn! |
| History | Daksh | 8B | Earned a rare 100% in both his knowledge check and GCSE-style question last term; very well done! |
| Computing | Leo | 8S | For consistent outstanding contributions to both his computing lessons and coding club! |
| DT | Harjit | 8S | For his excellent diligence and outstanding work! |
We hope that all the students will see this as an opportunity to showcase their ability and push themselves in class!

Mr Sturt - Director of KS3 and Head of Year 8 - commented:
"Well done to Shrihaan and Nathan in 8B for having this idea in Student Board and then helping to arrange and put this assembly together.
It is a great example of the school motto - Non Sibi Sed Omnibus (Not For Oneself But For All) - and I am really proud of their focus in arranging this!
