Year 8 pupil receives commendation in global essay prize
This year's John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize attracted a record-breaking 100,227 entries from young writers across 183 countries, making Jason's achievement particularly impressive.
Representing Wilson's in the Science and Technology category, Jason submitted an essay responding to the question: 'Should we be polite to ChatGPT?'. He argued that politeness towards AI is unnecessary, suggesting that social pleasantries can add clutter to prompts and potentially complicate the system's processing of instructions.
We are so impressed that Jason's ideas have been recognised by the international judging panel. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to his independent thinking, intellectual curiosity and willingness to engage with some of the most interesting questions emerging from modern technology.
Congratulations to Jason on this well-deserved recognition!
